In general, her condition can be best characterized as being unhappy as a result of being stuck in a middle class.At the same time, Louise Mallard from The Story of an Hour also feels stuck and lives in restricted conditions, however, not due to her social status but due to the very fact of being married. For Louise, marriage became all her space in which she can function while the opportunities for being active outside of marriage are absent. Subsequently, she is oppressed by marriage that granted her limited set of roles and possibilities. She was young, with a fair, calm face, whose lines bespoke repression.
